Introduction
When people immigrate to Canada to start a new life they are often faced with many difficulties. Newcomers require time and support in order to succeed in their new home and become full members of Canadian society.
The Catholic Immigration Centre (CIC) is at the frontline of settlement service provision for newcomers to Canada. Governments have shifted resources from providing services directly to partnering with organizations such as CIC. Government funding is not sufficient, however, to meet all the needs of newcomers or fund all the programs CIC has in place to address those needs.
Goals of CIC’s Fundraising Activities:
- raise funds to support CIC's mission;
- enhance CIC's community profile;
- recognize donors, friends and volunteers;
- promote special events and/or campaigns; and
- profile the organization's history, vision and mission.
You Help
By donating to the Catholic Immigration Centre you:
- fill the gap left by government cut backs in program delivery;
- allow us to improve and expand our services;
- strengthen our ability to provide client-driven services;
- tell us, as member of the community, that you value the work we do; and
- make good things happen for a large number of people.
As a donor you will be:
- recognized for your support, if you so desire;
- happy knowing you have helped a great cause;
- contributing to a strong local community;
- provided with a tax receipt for donations over $10; and
- eligible to receive our Newsletter.
Ways to Donate:
- write us a cheque (CIC Foundation) - we accept cash and credit cards as well;
- sponsor our newsletter, or any of our special events or campaigns;
- donate for a friend;
- buy tickets to our events;
- sponsor the "New Pioneers", our boat at the Tulip Festival;
- participate in our "We All Belong" Coin Box campaign;
- drop your coins in our coin boxes; and/ or
- become a sustaining donor with your monthly donation.
